"Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt." – John Muir
It is our mission to ensure the traditional summer camp experience remains available for youth and young adults. We are in the business of keeping camps open, and re-opening camps that are closed. Kids deserve to be outside, experiencing nature, and all the good that can do for a developing child. If you know of a camp in trouble, please email us at info[at]savemycamp.org.
Camp Shin-Go-Beek sits on Big and Little Twin Lakes in Waushara county Wisconsin. With a dining hall that can seat up to 240 campers, and 5 large group campsites, 2 of which containing 9 camping cabins each, the camp is perfectly set up for youth group resident summer camp program. Originally opened in 1948 as a Boy Scoutâ„¢ camp, Shin-Go-Beek operated through the summer of 2015, at which point it was closed and later sold. The Shin-Go-Beek Foundation acquired a key piece of the original 500 acre property in 2018, and has since restarted operations. As of 2023, the camp is offering weekend and family camping, with plans to offer both day camp and resident camp program in 2024.
